The Sonoma County market has remained robust with sales activity up 9.5%, and 1,590 units sold in the second quarter of 2015.

Average prices have climbed 12.5% throughout the county, with Sonoma city and Healdsburg increasing by even more. This is because second home sales, and lifestyle buyer interest in wine country, continue to grow and impact the market. Average inventory has declined by 5.1% to just 56 days thus continuing a seller’s market. The competitive, under $600,000, first-time buyer market is frequently receiving multiple offers. Inventory of properties over $2 million has increased over June 2014 in Sonoma County by 24%, and current months of inventory are averaging nine months for properties in this price range.

Not surprisingly, updated and renovated luxury homes in desirable locations are generating the greatest sales activity.
